Getting Started

Getting Started with Aetia

Your world, beautifully connected. A studio for novel plotting and storytelling. Bring your notes, character timelines, and chapters into one workspace. Aetia keeps track of continuity, so you can focus on the creative side of your book.

How Aetia works

Aetia works in stages: build your world, set up a timeline, and write your manuscript scene by scene. Along the way it flags continuity breaks and tracks tension, while you stay in charge of your story.

The Writing Workflow

  1. STEP 1

    Create a universe

Build a story bible for your world’s rules, character arcs, history, and lore. Aetia keeps these facts organized and consistent from your first page to your final chapter.

Tip: Start small: focus on one city, one era, or one set of rules you can easily remember.

  2. STEP 2

    Start a narrative project

One story inside that universe: its arcs and the scenes you will draft.

Tip: Pick a working title and a one-sentence premise, as you can easily refine both later on.

  3. STEP 3

    Work scene by scene

Set your scene goals, draft in a clean workspace, and review the scene before adding it to your book.

Tip: Every scene should change something: the tension, what a character knows, or a relationship.

Beginner Pitfalls to Avoid

  • Skipping the universe layer and losing track of what is canon.
  • Rushing past review: check each scene for continuity before adding it to your canon.
  • Over-studying before writing: Focus on drafting a single scene first, then consult craft guides as your story demands them.
